When anxiety hits, we can't resolve it; When loneliness strikes, we have nowhere to avoid it; When the blues hit, we are powerless to fight. We can only passively endure, or invest in another goal, to divert the pain of anxiety and loneliness. We often spend our time on endless work and entertainment, thinking that in this way we will leave the pain far behind us and not be able to catch up. In fact, this practice only dulls the mind, becomes numb, becomes less sensitive to pain, becomes less concerned, and nothing else can change it. When we work hard or indulge in entertainment, the pain only lurks temporarily, but never leaves.
